A TRIBUTE TO FIRST-GENERATION STUDENTS

Over 50% of college students in the US are first-generation—the first in their families to attend college. Despite this is inspiring and remarkable, these students face unique challenges that follow them throughout their academic journey.

Their distinctive perspective, resilience and multicultural backgrounds bring real diversity to higher education and the workforce. Beyond recognizing their accomplishments, we wanted to support and champion these students, and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.

CREDITS

We partnered with eight first-gen student content creators from across the US to create two videos. The first shows their college journey and honors the people who have supported and motivated them along the way, with real footage from their iPhone photo galleries, where the Mac appears organically.

The second video captures their families' reactions to watching these stories.

The brand served as a platform for these students to share the challenging and often isolating journey of being a first-gen, in a heartfelt, yet celebratory way, which resonated with many students out there who felt seen and inspired.
